Route 66 Cruiser Meeting Minutes

Pizza Hut, February 12, 2017

Dwayne Caldwell called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.  Jerry Henry led the Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayer.

Debbi Bennett read the minutes.  A motion to accept as read was made by Jim White and seconded by Nick Carter. No one opposed and the motion was accepted.  

The Treasurer’s report was given by Anita Moorehead.  A motion to accept as was made by Jerry Henry and seconded by Nick Carter.  No one opposed and the motion was accepted.

Introduction on visitors included Gary and Susan Raasch, 32 Ford Roadster owners.  Chuck Overgruard and Scott Lynch were members attending their first meeting.

Old Business

Membership dues deadline has passed and the email address list will be revised to reflect members only.  Barbara Kelsey will publish a new directory.   

Chuck Overguard spoke about upcoming cars show at the Elks Lodge, March 25^th.   Entry fee is $20.  The lodge is located on Hwy 88 half a mile past the Will Rogers Museum. There will also be a BBQ cook off and a motorcycle jump contest. 

Starbirds will be February 17, 18 & 19.  Paul Richards indicated that we need at least one car for the show, we had someone who can’t make. We do have 16 cars and the trailer. There will not be a charge for the trailer.  Move in time is Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.  Paul is working on presenting a DVD with car show video.

New Business

We will be doing a cruise on March 18^th to the Heart of Rt 66 Car Museum and Sign of the Times Museum. 

It is time for the NeMar Cruise ins to begin.  We will change to the first Friday of the month, beginning April 7^th.  The Cruise in will begin at 5:00 p.m.

We will have a fund raiser at Chili’s April 24 & 25. We will receive 15% of dollars spent by those who mention the club.  Spread the word.

We are looking at an alternative location for the club picnic.  More information as it becomes available.

There was a vote to go to El Maguey on March 8^th, 5:00.  El Maguey has signed on to be a sponsor of the car show.

Glad Wags will be at the next meeting promoting their Poker Run.

It’s time to be start signing up sponsors for the car show.  Forms and W9 can be found on our Face Book page.  The W9 form shows we are nonprofit.

We are selling banner spots on our web site.  If you have someone in mind notify Dwayne or Brian Hodges. Brian will continue to maintain and help with our Web site. 

Next meeting of the officers is March 2^nd 6:00 at Pizza Hut.

Next Car Club meeting March 5^th, 5:00.

Paul Richards and his committee will start working on the club calendar.  Work will begin after Starbirds show.  If you have pictures of certain cars you would like to include please forward to Paul.

All of our last year’s tee shirts have been moved to Scott Youtey’s t-shirts store (new in the NeMar Center).  The shirts will be sold for $7, with $5 will be coming back to us and $2 to Scott.
