Route 66 Cruiser Meeting Minutes

Pizza Hut –August 6, 2017

 

Dwayne Caldwell called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.  Jerry Henry led the Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayer.

There was a good turnout for the NeMar 50th Anniversary.  Sold several Tee Shirts. 

The Shriners in Vinita called to say they were not interested in fixing dinner for the Toy Run. We will cancel the run. There is too much competition with other runs and Toys for Tots.  We will consider an event to collect toys at a local business.

Paul Richards continues to work on the calendar.  He is hopeful it will be ready for the New Year.  If you have not entered a photo yet you may post it on our private Facebook page.

The Car Show registration will close at 11:00 a.m. On some flyers were printed with 12:00. Times on our Car Show site are correct.  Workers need plan at being on site at 7:00 a.m.

If you still have raffle tickets and are unable to sell them please return them to Sharon Caldwell.

There was some talk after we purchased the Club Trailer to install shelving.  It is still a good idea.  If you are interested in spearheading this project please draft a team and see Dwayne for access to trailer.

Jerry Henry has been contacted by the Boy Scout Troupe 88 and they will do the Colors at the car show.

The annual Will Roger & Wiley Post Fly-in is Saturday August 12, 8:30 to 1:30.  It is held at Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch in Oologah, OK.

The Owasso High School FFA will have a car show on August 16th.  Registration is 7-9 a.m.

Rogers County Youth Services will be having their annual fund raiser. It is August 19th 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m It is a Sock Hop held at the Holiday Inn Express Convention Center.  They are looking for about ten cars, drivers will get in free additional tickets $25. Contact Cindy at Holiday Inn if you are interested in bringing a car.

First Baptist Church of Oologah is having its Second Annual Back to School Bash on Saturday August 26th from 10 to 2.

A group of friends is sponsoring a send-off for C. J. Oden a five year old boy who is battling a heart condition.  He is having major surgery in September.  The event on August 30th begins at 10 a.m at the Walmart on Hillside Drive and ends the Walmart on Elm Place in Broken Arrow. They would love to have a big crowd.

Debbi Bennett read the minutes.  A motion to accept as read was made by Jerry Henry and seconded Nick Carter. No one opposed and the motion was accepted.  

The Treasurer’s report was given by Debbi Bennett.  A motion to accept as read was made by Denny Rhett and seconded by Jerry Henry.  Carolyn Holden made a motion to move some money from the Pay Pal account into the bank account.  There was a second by Jerry Henry.  The motion carried.

Dwayne reminded the group that nominations for officers is coming up.  There is a possibility that Dwayne may not run for President next year. 

Barbara Christmann will be extending the number of contestants in the Pin Up Girls Contest.  She is also considering moving up the beginning time.   

Dwayne asked for suggestion for cruises after the Car Show.  Pawhuska was mentioned.  If you have other suggestions please let Dwayne know. 

Next meeting will be September 10th.

Delma Rhett motioned to adjourn and Jerry Henry seconded.  The motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
