Route 66 Cruiser Meeting Minutes

Pizza Hut, April 3, 2016

Dwayne Caldwell called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.  Jerry Henry led the Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayer.

The Treasurer’s report was read. A motion to accept as read was made by Jerry Henry and seconded by Nick Carter.  No one opposed and the motion was accepted.  Dick McGuire clarified the definition of an audit.  It is not limited to the financial records but of the total operations of the club.  An audit is not required by the bylaws but is part of the club’s policies and procedures.

The minutes from the last meeting were read.  A motion to accept as read was made by Nick Carter and seconded by James Rigler.  No one opposed and the motion was accepted.

Guests

Christi Dorsey and Marge Satterfield returned to remind of us the Poker Run for Glad Wags.  The date is April 16th.  Glad Wags is a nonprofit foundation training and providing service dogs. They also brought a student from Claremore in the process of receiving a service dog and noted that donations and entry fees could be directed directly to her dog’s training if wanted.

New members were introduced: Kelly Tidwell, Leroy Tidwell, David and Vera Heuszel.

Old Business

Last meeting Chris Christmann made a motion to change the bylaws to allow officers to run more than two consecutive terms. After discussion we voted by paper ballot to rewrite the item D in the bylaws to eliminate all words from the sentence “no Officer shall serve for more than two (2) consecutive terms...”  The vote passed 31 to 7.

New Business

The Club Picnic will be May 22nd, 1:00 at Claremore Lake, Shelter 1.  Hamburgers provided by the club.  Cooking by Mike Bennett.  There are paper products and water from the Christmas party that we can use.  We will need sliced onions, tomatoes, cheese, chips and side dishes and desserts.

Since there are not many people attending The Tulsa Chill we will not take the trailer.

There are forms available Car Club Sponsorships. The officers are maintaining a list of potential sponsors and will be asking those who have helped in the past.  If you can help contact any company on the list or have additional ideas please contact one of the officers. Or you may pick up forms and the letter from the Shriners directly at Hodges Computers.

We have enjoyed Taco Tuesday at El Banquette.  The club will be going as a group the 2nd Tuesday of every month now through November.

There were discussions on upcoming cruises and car shows.  For a complete list and info please check the website.

Jerry Henry made a motion to adjourn, Nick Carter seconded, the motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 6:00.
