The Route 66 Cruisers Car Club meeting was called to order by President Ted Hancock
at 5:00 pm at the Will Rogers Downs.

Treasurer Nelda Conger read the Treasurers report and it was approved as read.
Secretary Barbara Kelsey read the minutes of the previous meeting and it was approved
as read.

President Ted Hancock told us that since the car show is so close he will be turning over
the meeting to Dwayne Caldwell after the introduction of our guest. He asked Jerry Henry
to introduce his guest. Jerry Henry introduced Dale Braden the Scout Master of the Boy
Scouts. He announced that there will be 12 Boys Scouts at the car show and that they
well help in any way that they can. President Ted Hancock introduced David Anderson,
Director of the Totem Pole. David Anderson said that he has a few cars and that he might
Join the car club. He announced that the Totem Pole was having a Barbeque October 4th
and would like a few cars to come, and that he was looking forward to the car club being
there on Friday night September 26th. He said that the Barbeque was a fund raiser for
the painting job that will be done next spring. A local woman artist will paint it. The Totem
Pole is an historic sight and has to be taken care of. He said that he would like for the car
Club and the Totem Pole to have a joint event in the future. President Ted Hancock
Introduced Katherine Bolding of the Catoosa Library. She invited us to come to their Arts
and Craft show in October 25th from 10:00am to 4pm. She said that if you can bring a few
cars to have them there at 8:00am.
Delbert Tygart announced that several cars went to a car show last week and won a few
Trophies and the 50/50 pot. Dick McGuire won a large trophy. He also said that on the
25th of October there will be a Pecan Festival.

President Ted Hancock turned the meeting over to Dwayne Caldwell. Dwayne said that
he handed our Host Cards & dash Plaques for their cars to our members so that they  will
not be judged. He said that due to no one at this time volunteered to man the Poker Run
at NeMar on Friday night we will not do it. If some people will let him know so that he can
set it up with the stores at NeMar. He said that the setup time is at 3:00pm. We will need
about four tables and chairs, and a microphone. He said that we need bid sheets for the
silent auction. The food drive will be that night too, so don’t forget the food. He said that
thinks he has enough volunteers to put up signs but you can call him and see. There will
be a car counter at the entrance of the lake. He announced that Sharon Coldren will need
help with the arts and craft setup. Dwayne said that if you need any of the Boy Scouts to
help you, get in touch with Jerry Henry. He said that the pedal car is painted by Jason
Anderson. The bottled water will be given out when they register. The pin-up contest will
be family orientated so no bathing suits, clothing will be from the 30s and 40s. Dwayne
thanked everyone who is helping out for the car show, it couldn’t be done without them.


Dick McGuire would like for the National Anthem to be played right before the
Car Show starts. He would like for the Boy Scouts to present the colors. The car
club voted to do so. Dick McGuire will hand out the prizes. Dwayne said that the
Judges will have the winners of the car show names and make of the car made
known to there will not be any problems. There will be a meeting on the 17th to
fill the goodie bags. There will be a picnic after the car show. The registration is
to start at 8:00am but someone said at sunup. Dwayne said that Nick Carter
got a new sponsor from Pryor, the Dodge Dealership. They are having a car show
on the 11 of October at 9:00am and they will have food and refreshments. Dwayne
showed a poster made by Scott Youtsy. Dwayne said that Paul Kelsey is in charge of
the swap meet., and that he needed to get a notice in by October for next year.
Jerry Henry moved to give $150.00 to the police department for handouts at their
Booth, seconded, passed.
Vice-President Terry Haddock said that t-shirts will be here around the16th of
September. The cost will be $15.00 for 2x & 3x $16.00.
Sharon Coldren announce that Bill Holden will be at Hard Rock the 23 of September.
Jim Cody moved to have the pledge of Allegiance at every meeting, seconded,
approved.
Paul Kelsey announced that the set up for the swap meet will be on Wednesday
The 1st of October at noon because on Thursday people will start to come in to
set up their spots.
Ed Meachum and Jim Cody wants to organize a Fall Foliage Tour to last two days.
Nick Carter moved to adjourn at 6:15pm
